Painted and petrified Forests AZ

 Views on our way to Holbrook: Vues prises en allant sur l'Arizona.

Many miles of flat land as you can see with tons of very dilapidated homes. The scenery is constantly changing. De nombreux km ou tout change constamment: des plaines, des collines, des deserts, de nombreuses maisons delabrees (on en voit enormement).

Above we picnicked in the Painted desert. We were doing lots of "oh", "ahs", beautiful, gorgeous "and it's not even the Grand Canyon yet". Ci-dessus, on a piquenique dans le Painted Desert. On faisait beaucoupe de: oh ! ah! 'et on n'est pas arrive au Grand Canyon!"
 

Then below you will see the Petrified forest with its house remnants of its Prehistoric Past: ancient walls and even symbols on rocks. "Evidence shows there are over 13000 years of human occupation following the last Ice Age." Ci-dessous des vues prises dans la Petrified Forest. Des ruines qui datent de la Prehistoire: des anciennes petites murettes du sous-sol de maisons. "evidence d'habitations datant de au moins 13 000 ans. Ce qui prouve la presence d'Humains dans cette region". 

We finished our stop and go drive through the Blue Ridge and Petrified wood. Quite amazing day! On a fini notre journee au sud du parc de la Petrified Forest en passant par son Blue Ridge et le bois petrifie. 

On the picture above you can see how the tree trunks were preserved. They were covered with water and sediments and went through many changes to become what we see now. Sur la photo ci-dessus vous voyez le bois dans les couches de calcaires. 

Notre prochain arret de 3 nuits: Williams Arizona . Demain nous voyageons en train pour aller au Grand Canyon. Soyez prets a suivre nos nouvelles aventures. On a entendu dire qu'il y avait des cowboys et des attaques.!!!

Next is Williams AZ where we are staying 3 nights. Tomorrow we are boarding a train which will take us on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Be ready for the adventure. I hear there are some loose cowboys in the area.
