New Mexico Canyon - Las Conchias (read Fiesta first)

Pictures of our arrival to Albuquerque NM. Followed route 66 for many many miles. Stopped in Tucumcari NM for the night.

Campground for Horses traveling around US where we stayed in Tucumcari. Fun time discovering what some horses from Florida are doing. Friendly new owners who were so excited about the arrival of their new 2 year old Arabian from Ocala. (I'll have to find that picture- so come back later to check it out).
Our first outing in Albuquerque was to drive to a canyon, going through Native American Reservations and through beautiful red rocky volcanic formations.
Below we are now in Albuquerque, driving to Jemez mountains. Some gorgeous views along the way.

Drove to Las Conchas around 7500 ft where we hiked through its beautiful canyon.
top of Las Conchas. Makes me feel like somewhere in the Alps.

This tree grew through some rocks.

Do you see what I see? first it looked like a lion then maybe like the face of a dog like a St Bernard. What do you think?
And then I see elephant trunks. No or is the altitude air playing games with me?

Next post will be Balloons Fiesta in Albuquerque. Join us. Don't forget to sign your name when commenting. Love to know who came for a visit.

C’est vrai, la roche ressemble à un lion. Quel paysage !! Super. Bonne continuation. Biz Cath
