We are back on the road and it has been quite a trip to get here. It all started when our last winter trip ended. Yes, it started when it finished to put it bluntly. First our Hancock home sold out before we even put it officially on the market. It was a very busy May and June. We finally made it to Maine mid-June. Then we were busy with the holidays and several trips to NH. In Maine we started a big project in the back yard where we spent hours after hours digging roots from all the tight bushes that we had had removed.
Highlight of the summer: our trip to France where we had perfect weather and an amazing time with the Berryer family. Merci à vous tous pour nous avoir offert de si bons moments.
Took pictures naturally. That was the easy part. The difficult part is now to retrieve them from iphone and computer. So this problem needs to be solved. And Voilà!
First day and throughout of our stay: visits to Mamie Gilberte. So good to see her smile. Then to Le Vercors where we did a bit of hiking en famille.
Then it was a 2 day field trip to Vars at the heart (or almost) of Les Alpes.

Pause to recover and relocate the trail. Took a bit longer but then the view was worth it. |

Showing our age. They are not the only one. The other lady is in bed too. Just not on the photo. |
Left Vars back to Grenoble for Une Fondue Savoyarde. Merci Helene et Michel.
Their balcony is the best setting for a summer evening.
Pastry shops and bakeries at every corner. Might as well eat what you can carry back to the US.

Best family reunions ever: in an orchard, under apple trees. Time to catch up with cousins and aunts. |
Time to go back to Paris via TGV.
Lots of leg room. Even a folding table. Speed and comfort on our way north. 260km/h=160m/h![]() |
Bateaux Mouches for a lazy visit at the center of Paris. (no students to check on) |

Not our flight but that plane is enormous. 2 levels all the way. Not sure how it can stay up . Do you ever wonder how so many passengers are up there on the dots you see in the sky? |
Au revoir France, à la prochaine. See you soon.
